The ONE Trust is committed to help in the re-building efforts in the area of education. We believe ‘children’ is our future and presently children are more volatile to dangers of the society than ever before.

The necessary educational facilities and guidance to the children of Sri Lanka through will be provided with the intention of instilling better values and positive thinking about the future in the minds of the children. The ONE Trust will develop Community-based psychosocial support, including activities, which allow children to express themselves and come to terms with their own experience.

Will select areas in 1-3 districts where the need is most. Likely districts: Galle, Hambantota, Mullativu and Ampara.

At least 10 schools in total with an estimate spend of Rs.4-5 million per school with the total amounting to Rs 50 million. (no. can be increased depending on the Cause).

The educational project will be managed by a partnership between an affected school and a partnering school in an unaffected area. These partnering schools will follow the concept of “ADOPTING” a school in the affected areas.

The ONE Trust will identify schools that need assistance in the affected areas and form partnerships with schools in the unaffected areas to 'adopt' the affected school. The ONE Trust will provide furniture, lab facilities, teacher training, stationary, books, other educational equipment and the funding necessary in part or in full for same.

Further to this, the project will organize morale building sessions for the children and undertake cost of volunteers.

The partner school will do day-to-day management of the project and facilitate all funds in terms of building Fixed Assets etc., Their contribution will also come in liaising with counselors, teachers, volunteers & syllabi and text books et., The partner school will also help immediately in setting up temporary shelters if needed for the children of these affected schools so that they are properly provided for until such time that the permanent new buildings are constructed.

To set up temporary centres that will substitute as educational and/ or counseling centers until the actual schools are re-build.
Time period: starting February to continue as long as needed, until all schools are re-built. Approx. upto 1 yr.

To facilitate the re-building of schools in terms of providing facilities, equipment to improve standards & finding teachers etc.
Conduct Special Programs on value building which will include the parents.
